Community Pop-Up Museum!

Community Pop-Up Museum!
Saturday, March 14 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The Oberlin Heritage Center is hosting a community pop-up museum! All are welcome to visit this surprise “museum” at Oberlin Community Services (500 East Lorain Street, Oberlin) in the Ann Fuller Great Space. This event was planned as part of the nationwide initiative to mark the America250 anniversary and we wanted everyone to have a chance to celebrate what is meaningful to them. For those who want to enjoy the free event as a guest, come by between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. No registration is necessary to view the displays.

For those who want to be curator-for-a-day, see the basic information below and then register as an exhibitor to see the full details and agree to a waiver. Bring your personal or family artifacts, photographs, documents, or organizational history highlights. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Oberlin-focused because everyone in Oberlin brings their unique stories and interests!

• There is no fee to be an exhibitor but registration is required.
• OHC staff and volunteers will be helping, but participants are ultimately responsible for their display space and item security.
• Table space is limited (standard size 3’ x 2’) and you will need to do your own set-up and take-down, so when thinking about what you want to display, aim for manageable, transportable, and impactful.
• Exhibitors will have early access to set up a display.
• Youth are invited to be exhibitors but guardians must agree to the terms and registration as the responsible party and be present throughout the event.
