From January 20-31, 2026, the Oberlin Heritage Center will be hosting a food drive to support Oberlin Community Services (OCS). While people are incredibly generous with food donations around the holidays, the need remains high throughout the year and we hope to help OCS in their efforts to address food insecurity in our area.
Donations may be made inside the Monroe House (73 ½ S. Professor St., Oberlin, OH 44074) during the museum’s open hours of Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10am-3pm. One donated item qualifies the food donor for a complimentary museum pass to attend a self-guided tour of the Monroe House that day or at a future date.
Particularly helpful and needed items include: cereal, soup, canned meat (tuna, salmon, chicken, beef hash, chili, Vienna sausage, etc.), dry rice, dry pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, and boxed starches (pancake mix, stuffing, rice, instant potatoes, oatmeal, etc.).
Please drop off non-perishable items such as canned goods, paper products, gift cards and cash donations (that will be converted to gift cards). Donations will be accepted through Saturday, January 31 at 3pm. All collected items will be donated and delivered to OCS at the end of the food drive.
