Do you enjoy talking with people and sharing your passion for Oberlin and its history? Then consider becoming an OHC Tour Guide and join us for a two-hour training of our most popular history walk. The training will cover content relating to Oberlin’s commitment to racial integration, the community’s role in abolition and the Underground Railroad, stories of freedom seekers, and what followed the abolishment of slavery. Even if you are unsure of your interest in giving this history walk, the information included is reflected in many of OHC’s tours and offerings and provides more insight into the history of the community. All training attendees will receive a tour guide manual and a complimentary pass to shadow this tour during a public offering.
If you are interested, please RSVP to Amanda Manahan at tourinfo@oberlinheritage.org by Saturday, May 9. The training will begin at the First Church in Oberlin (106 N. Main St.).
