In the course of participating in OHC programs and services, the organization may collect your name and contact information. Such information may be used to share future information with you about OHC and track where patrons are from. Contact information is never used for any purpose not directly tied to OHC activities and is never shared with an unaffiliated third party. At any time, individuals may choose to stop receiving any and/or all communications from the Oberlin Heritage Center. When OHC is contacted by individuals hoping to communicate with someone affiliated with the organization, such as a board member, contact information is never shared without permission.

Financial Information:
OHC keeps financial information about contributions and grants for legal reporting requirements and preparing acknowledgements to donors. Donation information is never given to outside parties excepting for legal reporting purposes. Donor names are shared in Annual Reports and donors may occasionally be featured in a newsletter or on the OHC website. Donors can choose to be listed anonymously at any time. Online purchases made by credit card are managed by a secure third-party and as such OHC does not handle or store online credit card information. Credit card information from purchases made onsite, via phone, or via mail is immediately shredded and discarded once the transaction has been processed.

OHC collects statistical information about participants, donors, and visitors for the purposes of knowing how many people the organization is serving, evaluating programmatic impact, and submitting reports to grant supporters. Such information is only shared in summary format, never individual.

Photographs:
OHC may take photographs of individuals and groups that participate in a tour, program, or other service. Verbal or written permission is sought from adult guardians before any photographs are taken or shared of youth. At any time, participants may opt to not be photographed or have their photograph removed from OHC-controlled websites or social media.

Online Visitors (Websites, Blog, Social Media Pages)

Usage Data:
OHC’s website and social media pages routinely collect non-personally-identifying information such as where users are connecting from, what operating system is used, and what web pages are most frequently accessed. Such data is only collected in summary format, not to the individual level, and is used for evaluating and improving our online services.

Online Personally-Identifying Information:
Visitors to the Oberlin Heritage Center’s website or social media pages may interact in ways that involve sharing personally-identifying information, such as completing online sales, tour reservations, or donation transactions, or interacting with social media pages like Facebook and Instagram. The amount and type of information that OHC gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Personally-identifying information is only used to process individual transactions or communications. Credit card transactions are managed by a secure third-party and card numbers are not shared with OHC. If users share information or comments on publicly accessible platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, such responses may be visible to other individuals and third parties OHC has no control over. OHC may archive public comments for historical purposes as they relate to OHC’s mission. The OHC website and blog also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. OHC does not use or disclose such information.
