Nov 12 - Everything But Death: Black Prisoners of War in the Confederate South

 

OHC is happy to announce that in honor of Veteran's Day it invited Oberlin College professor Caroline Wood Newhall to Kendal at Oberlin on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:15 p.m. to present a program about African-American soldiers who became prisoners of war in the Confederacy. Caroline Wood Newhall specializes in 19th-century United States history, focusing on North American slavery and captivity, warfare, and the Civil War era. Her publications include numerous blog posts, book reviews, and forthcoming book chapters, and her public talks have been featured on C-SPAN and YouTube.
